Asda reveals layout of new superstore
The countdown is on for the opening of the £25 million-plus Asda superstore
in Keighley in less than a fortnight’s time. Senior store manager Karl Brown said Asda would be the first supermarket in the area to offer
halal baby food in its café and sell halal meat on its shelves.

Opinion: I feel that the writer of the letter “Halal cert and hotels” (The Star, June 30) is biased, not to mention playing the blame game.Why
blame the Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC) for slow

FG Multifarm Aims To Be Regional Goat Supplier

Kuching:Sole proprietor, Jeli Bohari Biha, said FG Multifarm went direct to
Australia to import the goats which produce good meat, adapt well to
the Malaysian climate and can grow up to 70-80 kg per animal, because
there was not enough local supply.
"We can actually be a regional supplier of both live goats and goat meat as well as for the halal market in the Middle East, and we have achieved this to a certain extent with the Brunei market asking for more," he said.

Higher advertising budget for McDonald’s

Golden Arches Restaurants Sdn Bhd, the operator of McDonald’s in
Malaysia, is increasing its advertising and promotion budget by over
10% this year compared with last year’s RM35mil budget to strengthen
its position and woo more customers.

made great efforts to encourage member hotels to apply for halal
