Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesian Halal Product Assurance Agency (BPJPH) is strengthening the national halal ecosystem as a key component of support for President Prabowo Subianto’s national development agenda.
BPJPH Head Ahmad Haikal Hasan said in a statement on Monday that halal certification not only bolsters consumer protection but is also a strategic instrument in boosting productivity, economic independence, and improving community welfare.
He further stated that an increase in Indonesian products receiving halal certification will create a multiplier effect on national economic growth.
He added that halal certification reinforces market trust, opens access for MSME products to the global halal market network, and simultaneously raises the quality standard of domestic products.
According to the BPJPH head, this process aligns with President Prabowo’s economic policy direction, which emphasizes increasing national productivity and strengthening the people’s economy.
Furthermore, he mentioned that BPJPH continues to expand collaboration with stakeholders at both central and regional levels to ensure that halal product assurance services are more accessible, fast, and affordable.
The halal certification acceleration program has also been directed at ensuring equitable benefits for micro and small business players across the country.
In this regard, he continued, the BPJPH will continue to ensure that every producer, especially MSMEs, receives the necessary support to level up through halal certification.
To support micro and small businesses, the BPJPH has allocated a quota of one million free halal certifications this year.
